Rising Kindergarten Day Camp OVERVIEW
Rising Kindergarten Day Camp explorers engage in activities throughout the day and the week in an engaging and growth-oriented atmosphere. Each week campers explore a curriculum aligned with the Common Core Standards with various activities including YOGO!, music & movement, arts & crafts, outdoor sports & games and instructional swimming, designed to engage campers’ diverse interests and help them discover new passions. Through all of these activities and interactions with peers and counselors, campers focus on the project at hand — and also more importantly Learn about the Kid Explorer Camp Operating States of Performance that support the Full Self Expression of every Kid Explorer Camper. Our experienced and well-trained staff works with campers to develop these important life skills in an environment of support and both physical & emotional safety. To create the safest and most developmentally-appropriate group setting, in Rising Kindergarten Day Camp we maintain a camper to staff ratio of 8:1 during classroom activities and 3:1 during instructional swim time.
Each week of Rising Kindergarten has a special theme, which engage the imagination of campers and support many of the weekly projects — whether it’s making fake snow during Frozen-themed “Let It Snow!” or Traveling Tuesdays where the campers go on a field trip to “Find Dory.” Each theme builds up to its own SPECIAL Event Friday, which culminates the week.

APPROACH & PHILOSOPHY
An emphasis on core life-skills and lessons in an environment of collaboration and positive behavior modeling helps campers realize and grow their potential, and become and improve their personal best. In Day Camp, developmentally-appropriate — yet challenging — projects, team-building activities and group GAMES provide a context and platform for both fun and growth opportunities.
The projects and activities of Day Camp aim to engage campers in a way that goes beyond the fun that they’re having at camp, and BUILDS the foundation life skills such as resiliency (Bounce, don’t break!), hope & goal-setting (See it to be it), grit & determination (Practice is perfect) and emotional mastery (Express yourself!). Through the experiences of camp and the friendships that they build, campers build the toolkit of emotional skills that correlate to success later in life, in order to help campers thrive at every level.
